Bijuu and Jinchuuriki

Bijuu and Jinchuuriki

Although there are demons and hosts the show from the first chapter of the manga, the concepts of Bijuu and Jinchuuriki were not addressed directly in the beginning of Naruto: Shippuden when Chiyo of Sunagakure no Sato defines terms (Chapter 256, episode 12 of Shippuuden) . The plot of the series started to turn around and his hosts of demons ever since.

Bijuu (尾 獣 literally "Tailed Beast") is a term derived from a well known Japanese legend about a war that existed between these monsters. In Naruto and Naruto: Shippuuden the bijuu chakra forms are extremely powerful they assume the appearance of demons with tails. There are nine of them, each with a specific number of tails: Ichibi (One Tail), Nibi (Two Tails), Sanbi (Three Tails), Yonbi (Four Tails) Gobi (Five Tails), Rokubi (Six Tails), Shichibi (Seven Tails), Hachibi (Eight Tails) and Kyuubi (Nine Tails).

Because they are creatures with immense capacity for destruction, several villages and ninja clans had the ambition to use them as weapons. {Spoiler} It was shortly after the founding of the ninja villages Senju Hashirama, the Shodai Hokage - known for its ability to tame the demons - distributed the bijuu between ninja villages, as a way to stabilize the balance of power between the powers {spoiler} .

When free, these demons may attack and destroy human settlements, and are classified as "natural phenomena", unforeseeable calamities. There is rarely a human being able to control a bijuu in its complete form - {spoiler} are the only known cases Hashirama Senju and Uchiha Madara, with the latter only manipulated the Kyuubi through the Sharingan {spoiler} - and so the ninjas needed to create another way to hold and use the most powerful creatures of your world.

Thus was born the concept of Jinchuuriki (人 柱 力, literally "the power of human sacrifice"). As it was almost impossible to find someone who manipulate the bijuu completely liberated, the ninjas found ways to trap the demons in other human beings, hoping to make them feared weapons against any other shinobi nations. And indeed, the jinchuuriki become beings that inspire terror - both enemies and allies in.

The bijuu, as masses of chakra absurdly powerful, require lots of sacrifices to be contained, usually taking someone's life during imprisonment. Moreover, so they are sealed in a human being, his chakra begins to interfere with the nature of the host, either merging the energy of the jinchuuriki or changing his expression. While this gives the ninja villages the main advantage in having a jinchuuriki, that is, to use the chakra of the characteristics and skills bijuu, the truth is that having a powerful demon in the body becomes unstable hosts.

This instability can change their personality, or even make them attack indiscriminately friends and foes. Combining this with the bijuu destruction caused to humans throughout the ages, the jinchuuriki eventually became the target of hatred and contempt of ninjas, including its allies.

List of Jinchuuriki and its Bijuu:

A Tail

Bijuu: Ichibi, also known as Shukaku

Jinchuuriki: Sabaku no Gaara (Kazekage Godaime)

Affiliation: Sunagakure no Sato

Status: The jinchuuriki was captured by Akatsuki and had his bijuu extracted, but survived

Possession of skills: Besides the will to manipulate sand, Gaara can begin the process of transformation in the bijuu concentrating and making a brief ritual. At first, your body takes form just part of the devil, but Gaara can release the bijuu in its complete form it into a state of deep sleep. The jinchuuriki also acquired enough control over the devil to be able to invoke only the arms of the Shukaku, as shown in the fight against Deidara.

It is said that Suna no Shukaku was originally corrupted the spirit of a monk of the desert that was trapped within a "kettle." It was not explained how this spirit became a bijuu, but it is certain that the devil has always used Sunagakure to create jinchuuriki and strengthen its military. The last host was the Ichibi Sabaku no Gaara, son of the Yondaime Kazekage. It was Chiyo who performed the fuuinjutsu to enter the demon in the boy when he was still in the womb. Gaara's birth cost the life of the mother.

As a jinchuuriki, Gaara got some advantages: in addition to having a reserve of chakra remarkable, had a shield of sand automatically, manipulated by Ichibi. Every time it was attacked, the sand protected him immediately, regardless of Gaara want to or not. However, this power had a high price: Gaara could not sleep, or be completely overwhelmed by the consciousness of the demon Shukaku and would act on their own, and his personality consumed by it.

The Naruto Shukaku is based on the tanuki, an animal commonly associated with Japanese pranks and evolutionism. The reference to "kettle" and the corrupt priest also derives from tales about tanuki. Otherwise, the "dark circles" very broad and dark wrap around Gaara's eyes are a clear reference to the appearance of tanuki (Shukaku itself, in its complete form, is similar to the animal), and the vessel that the sand jinchuuriki loads on the back is present in some of the legends about the raccoon Nipponese.
